Sutherlands of Duffus

Arms - "Gules, a boar's head erased betw. three mullets, two and one, and as many crosses crosslet fitchee, one and two or."

Crest- "A stag's head ppr. collared or."

Motto - "Butt sicker."

 


The original Sutherland crest has been passed down to us from a stone
at Duffus. The crest represents the intermarriage of the Sutherland,
Cheyne & Chisholm families.


The crest above appears in the manuscript entitled "Peer Arms"
held in the Lyon Office, New Register House, Edinburgh.


The crest as sold by commercial retailers.
